This bronze ordnance rifle barrel fit the standard carriage without any modification. It has a rifled 37 mm tube for the core, and is accurate out to about three quarters of a mile. If you look closely, the rear rondles (there are three pair, total) are visable separating the cheeks from the trail stock. They have a sleeve which keys into the wood on both sides. This connects the cheeks to the carriage and bears the force exerted by the barrel on recoil, not the shear strength of the bolts.
